This author's storytelling voice entertains by simply telling small stories that are slices of life. A great reflection on a Catholic girls youth and the funny incidents that helped form her into adulthood. Sharp, witty and descriptive writing mark this author's style making the reader feel like they were there with her.
Really fun read for all girls! I give it an A+. Shannon captures the angst of growing up in a time when mothers were too ashamed of talk about womanhood. As she navigates her own journey, she never loses her humor or sense of irony. I read this book in one sitting. The take-away be who you are, everyone else is taken.
